In the second round of the 27th Chinese CSL Champions League, Chengdu FC faced off against Shandong FC in a highly anticipated match that took place on August 18, 2021 at the Guangzhou Opera House.

The first half was all about equal matches with both teams showcasing their best players. However, it was Chengdu FC who managed to score two goals early in the second half when they scored a goal from the penalty spot and another through a header. From there, Chengdu FC dominated the midfield and created numerous chances for scoring. However, Shandong FC came back strong with a goal from the penalty spot which helped them secure the victory.

This was Chengdu FC's first victory over Shandong FC in the history of the league. They now move onto the next round where they will face Jiangsu FC or Wuhan FC in the semi-finals. With this victory, Chengdu FC has secured their first ever Chinese Championship title. Their journey to the finals was filled with hard work, determination, and perseverance. The fans were also thrilled to see Chengdu FC finally win a Chinese championship.
