Sevilla FC has announced that the club has renewed Argentine forward Lucas Ocampos' contract until June 30, 2027.

The 24-year-old Ocampos made his debut for Sevilla in August 2018 and has since become a regular starter in the team's attack.

The club's sporting director, Jose Maria del Horno, said: "We are delighted to have been able to extend Lucas' contract at Sevilla for another year. He is an important player for us and we are looking forward to working with him for many more years."

Ocampos has scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists in 84 appearances for Sevilla so far. He also has experience playing for Argentina national team, having played in two World Cups and one Copa America.

In addition to Ocampos, Sevilla also announced on Friday that they had signed defender Jules Kounde from Chelsea for a fee reported to be £45 million ($60m).

Kounde will join the club on a five-year deal and will wear the number 2 shirt. The Frenchman is a highly rated prospect in European football and has already won several major honours with Chelsea, including the Premier League title in 2020-21.

Both signings are seen as significant moves by Sevilla, who are aiming to challenge for top spot in La Liga next season.

Overall, these signings show that Sevilla is committed to building a strong squad capable of competing at the highest level in Spanish football.
