Lens thrashed Toulouse 3-0 in Ligue 1 on Sunday evening to extend their unbeaten run to six matches.

The match at Stade de Lens saw the home side dominate possession and create numerous chances, but it was Lens who ultimately came out victorious thanks to two strikes from French international Mathieu Valbuena and a goal from Nigerian forward Emmanuel Emenike.

Valbuena's first-half effort was a clinical finish after good work down the left flank by Moussa Diaby, while Emenike's goal midway through the second half was a well-taken header that beat Toulouse goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The victory means that Lens have now scored 27 goals in their last seven games, which is the best record in the league this season.

Toulouse, on the other hand, remain winless in their last five games and continue to struggle for consistency in the top flight.

The match also saw the return of striker Karim Benzema, who had missed the previous game against Montpellier due to injury.

Benzema was not as prolific as he has been in recent weeks, but he did manage to score his first goal since returning from injury, albeit late in the game.

Overall, it was another strong performance from Lens, who look set to challenge for the title come the end of the season.
